Unfortunately, right now it's in the repair shop. Yup, that's right folks, she had a little mishap. I was sewing along all fine and dandy when all of a sudden it just stopped dead in its tracks. The LCD screen said "safety mechanism activated" and it shut down. Typically this happens when the needle bends and/or the thread gets tangled up under the needle plate. I got the needle off and pulled out the thread but there was nothing bent or tangled at all. Upon looking a little deeper I found that the needle bar had somehow bent slightly and had gouges on the back of it that were catching as it moved up and down. I greased it up enough to move the needle bar all the way up, then called the repair shop. It went in on Saturday. I should have it back in a couple weeks. This minor mishap hasn't diminished my faith in the Brother brand at all. Everything has issues from time to time. I'm just glad they are good about honoring their warranty and everything will be covered!
For now, I'm off here to try to get some sleep. I plan on posting a full review on the machine within the next day or so, so stay tuned!
